Ae School, Dumfries get fully equipped for art class
|
Ashleigh approached Ae Primary School and organised Ayrshire Construction Safety Group to have a chat and presentation to the young kids, highlighting the dangers on playing on construction sites.
The school was asked if they required any sponsorship for fun day or gala events, but water bottles and painting aprons were the preferred choice.
The kids have recently visited one of Ashleigh's construction sites, where they were correctly dressed in hard hats and high visibility vests - of the appropriate size, of course! |

Ashleigh boosts construction apreticeships
Local Employment in Dumfries & Galloway
|
Loreburn Housing Association, has announced a review of its working relationship with Ashleigh (Scotland) Construction Ltd, which has revealed that 44 skilled Apprentices have now qualified as a result of working on Loreburn's new housing projects.
Ashleigh is setting the standards for the construction industry in Scotland when it comes to quality and training. When selected as Loreburn's main partner to build new houses across the Region, Ashleigh was only too keen to take on additional local Apprentices to meet Loreburn's commitment to supporting local employment.
On the basis of Loreburn's work Ashleigh have employed 44 Apprentices across the professional trades, including plumbing, joinery and bricklaying. Currently, Ashleigh are supporting and training 4 more Apprentices, all of whom are benefiting from full Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) certified courses and industry leading in-house company training.
Of all of the Apprentices Ashleigh have taken under their wing, all bar four have remained with the company. The great news is that these four are all still using their skills in local employment.
Loreburn's Convener, Iain Agnew said: "I am delighted to see that our new housing programme is giving local young people the chance to gain real trades qualifications. These professional skills will benefit them throughout their lives, whatever they do, and will hopefully continue to benefit Dumfries & Galloway for many years to come.
"Loreburn feels it is important that as much of our work as possible goes to companies that demonstrate a strong commitment to Dumfries & Galloway. We spend up to £20m annually and all but a small percentage of this is invested in companies that directly support this area. We use these companies because they have proved time and again that they can compete on price, whilst providing much higher quality than those that have no real attachment to Dumfries & Galloway."
Ashleigh Managing Director, Alex Steel added: "Our partnership with Loreburn is a key part of our business. We are delighted that it has gone from strength to strength, helped greatly by the professionalism of Loreburn's Committee and their staff. Loreburn, like Ashleigh, has a commitment to training its employees to the highest professional standards, and this has always been obvious in our dealings with them.
"Ashleigh's aim is to continue to exceed industry standards, whilst supporting employment and investing in the local communities. I greatly look forward to taking on even more Apprentices to support the Loreburn new housing programme."

Vineburgh masterplan
|
As part of a redevelopment by Cunninghame Housing Association, the Vineburgh Regeneration Project is a 6 year masterplan, guiding redevelopment and tackling the high level of deprivation and low demand in the area.
Community and stakeholder consultation played a key role in deciding the Masterplan's main themes, looking at related issues such as social and economic issues, the timescale of the project, phasing of demolition and construction, and where residents are decanted to. A key part of this process is engaging with the community and finding out what their aspirations are. |

Sharks get extra bite from Ashleigh!
|
The Solway Sharks are sincerely grateful for the sponsorship and support from Ashleigh Construction. Without support from the local business community we would not be able to field a team that can be competitive in this league.
Our head coach, Martin Grubb has included two Czech imports this year to bolster his squad and to date the team remains unbeaten having played most of the top teams. We look forward to seeing Ashleigh Construction staff at our games and hopefully turn them into regular fans of the fastest and most exciting team game in the world. |
